Ten years ago, Cathy quit her posh job as a corporate attorney in a large law firm and founded inMotion, which provides free legal services to women living in New York City who are in domestic crisis. Since then, she's gotten more than 2,000 lawyers to donate their time to helping nearly 6,000 low-income women and children gain access to justice and empower themselves.

Cathy matched the best and brightest of New York's legal professionals with New York's poorest and most vulnerable population of women and children. She and her staff mentor corporate lawyers, give them the skills to argue cases in family court and give women who need orders of protection, child support, divorce or legal residency the representation required to get their lives back on track. Her organization also runs workshops to empower these women to seek their own remedies in court.

In addition to being the Executive Director at inMotion, Cathy serves on city and state commissions to effect changes in the legal system to improve the way the courts handle critical issues affecting families.

Her work enables women to gain safety and security for themselves and their children. InMotion is giving vulnerable women self-esteem and the opportunity to pursue live safe and productive lives, without fear.
