Last year, John Davis started the Kids Philosophy Slam, an event that selected the most “philosophical” primary and secondary school students in America.
Through this event, John created a national forum designed to inspire students to unlock their creative and intellectual potential through philosophy. Students across the country contemplated questions like “What is the meaning of life?” through essays, artwork, poetry, and music.
Students were then recognized nationally for their philosophical ideas at the Kids Philosophy Slam debate and award ceremony in Lanesboro, Minn.
John Davis does all of this for little to no pay. He runs this innovative, nationally recognized program for on a shoestring budget, and his total income for last year was under $9,000.
