Senator Bill Bradley

Bill Bradley is world renowned for his many years of distinguished service as a U.S. senator and his extraordinary career as an athlete. Among his numerous achievements are an Olympic Gold Medal win as captain of the United States basketball team at the 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics and a Rhodes scholarship from Oxford University, where he earned his graduate degree.

Before his presidential bid, Bill Bradley represented New Jersey as a Democrat in the United States Senate for almost two decades, serving on the Finance Committee, the Energy and Natural Resources Committee and the Special Committee on Aging. Prior to his political career, Bradley played professional basketball with the New York Knicks from 1967-1977, leading the team to two NBA championships as the team's starting forward.

Living out his commitment to remaining active in public life, Bradley has lectured on national and foreign policy as the Payne Distinguished Scholar at Stanford University's Institute for International Studies. He also led the National Issues Project at the University of Maryland, taught as a visiting professor at Notre Dame and served as Chair of the National Civic League, the country's oldest good-government organization. Today, he serves as a Managing Director of Allen & Company, LLC and as Chief Outsider to McKinsey & Company’s Nonprofit Practice. He has authored five books on American politics, culture and economy.
